Questions You Might Have

It’s completely natural to have questions before starting counselling. Here are some of the most common ones.

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. I’ll ask a little about what’s brought you to counselling, and you’ll have the chance to ask me any questions. There’s no pressure to dive deep straight away — we go at your pace.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of our work together. Everything shared in sessions stays between us, with very few legal exceptions which I’ll explain clearly at the start. Your trust is my priority.
Each session lasts 50 minutes. Sessions are usually held weekly, but we can discuss a schedule that works best for you.
There’s no set number — it’s entirely dependent on your needs and goals. Some people find clarity in a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll check in regularly to see what feels right.

Not at all. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. If something feels off, if you’re struggling to cope, or if you simply want to understand yourself better — that’s more than enough reason to reach out.

Yes. I offer sessions both in person and online via a secure video platform. Online sessions are just as effective and may feel more comfortable if you prefer to be in your own space.

Person-centred counselling is an approach that puts you at the heart of the process. Rather than giving advice or telling you what to do, I create a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. The belief is that you hold the answers — my role is to help you find them.

Simply fill in the contact form on this website, send me an email, or give me a call. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can to arrange a free introductory chat.

Have a question that isn’t answered here? I’d love to hear from you.
